What the Pros think about cycle safety: Amy's Ride SA

This year, we don't just have one cycling ambassador... we have all the elite riders from Cycling SA kitting up for Amy's Ride SA. Here's what some of the pros have to say about cycle safety.

Fraser Northey - Team Euride (Captain and Manager)

"I'm riding in Amy's Ride because I think it's important to display high visibility on the road by riding with a friend or in a group ."

Chris Luxton - Giant Adelaide/Dual Recruitment

"Bikes and cars are equally responsible for everyone's safety.  It's a two way street.  We do this [Amy's Ride] to show everyone should be able to use the road equally."

Robert-Jon McCarthy Bowden/SASi (Series Leader) -

"Always wear a helmet and when you're out riding, obey the road rules."

Russel Van Hout - Team Lightsview (Team Captain and current holder of Master's Jersey) - "The worst thing about riding is close calls with cars - there are so many on the road.  Let's show we can all be alert and ride responsibly."

Even if you can't make it to Amy's Ride SA (and we hope you can) make sure that you cheer these guys along in the coming weeks as they compete in the Bowden Elite Series.
For the rest of you... let's see if you've got what it takes to beat them up Wilunga hill for Amy's Ride SA!
